I’m Michael Pershan, a math teacher and a writer in New York City. In 2021 I published “Teaching Math With Examples,” a book about using worked examples to foster deep mathematical thinking. If you haven’t bought it yet, you should. If you have bought it, are you sure you didn’t lose your copy? Sometimes that happens. You can’t be too careful.

This is what the book looks like:

There are lots of places to buy the book, and you can get it for Kindle and so forth. I digress!

Readers of the book have sometimes asked if I have a collection of worked examples to go along with the book. My answer has always been, “no.” Until now!

This website will collect the worked examples that I use with my students. Sometimes the posts will be brief, just sharing the materials. Other times I might add a bit of classroom color.

If you have your own materials that you’d like me to link to from this site, reach out to me. You can find me on twitter.
